On Thursday 15th July it took place the last European Thursday of the program 2009-2010 that will start again its activity on September. The session of last Thursday was attended by: Albert Moreno, Secretary for the EU at Generalitat de Catalunya and Miguel Ángel Aguilar, journalist and political anaylst and they made an appraisal of what have been these six months of spanish presidency of the European Union. Last 15th and 16th June it was hold the first edition of the Workshop Cities of the Future organized by Global Barcelona Group and Metrópolis Global, with the participation of local governments of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Barranquilla (Colombia) and a representation of catalan and spanish entreprises that work on urban design, sustainable construction, TIC, etc. The aim of that is to promote the exchange of experience and good practices between Barcelona and cities from developing countries and to promote the internationalization of these entreprises. Note of the event, program

Last 18th June at the Castle of Fundació Abertis at Castellet i la Gornal, was hold the seminar of european good practices on entrepreneurship and promotion of the employment at the rural area. The event was organized by Fundació Catalunya Europa together with Fundació Món Rural and the technical collaboration of Montanyanes, and was attended by the experiences of 4 european countries: France, United Kingdom, Finland and Italy. Last 17th June, it took place a new European Thursday session at Ateneu Barcelonès, under the title "leadership and projects of future in the EU". To talk about that issue, the debate was attended by Excm. Mr. Odón Elorza, Major of San Sebastián and Mr. Antoni Gutiérrez -Rubí, advisor of communication. Note of the event.

In the Cycle of European Thursdays at Ateneu Barcelonès, last Thusday 27th May we talked about the challenges that local administrations have to resolve nowadays: the management of the cultural diversity.
