The national personality of Catalonia has an undeniable European vocation but it is also part or European history. Catalonia is part of the past, the present and the future of Europe and wants to keep its position as one of its more dynamic regions.
We strongly believe in the necessity of taking into account the new territorial entities (euroregions) for the construction of a common European frame where the collaboration and the cooperation with other regions will be the basis for growth, the joining of forces and the response to new changing realities. We consider that the Union will need to assume this perspective, and we want to back and promote this initiative from Catalonia
Therefore, the Foundation has sought to open a space for reflection on the European building processes and context, where voices from Catalonia and the outside (personalities from the academia, representatives of associations, politicians, professionals from different fields, and so on) are invited to think and discuss about Europe's future, it's role in the world and the linkage between Europe and the regions.
The work is structured and articulated through various formats:
-
European Thursdays: agreement between the Fundació Catalunya Europa and the Ateneu Barcelonès for the organization of conferences on different dimensions of European reality: both the relationship between Europe and the international sphere, ant the internal issues (politica, social and economic). Specialists and professionals in the fields of communication, academics, politicians and key people in the business world are invited to give a talk.
-
Claris dinners: dinner-debates organized by the Fundació Amics de la UAB in which the Fundació Catalunya Europa gives support to the development of the material afterwards.
- Other activities related to Europe
